Thursday, September 9th, 2010

According to the materials, generally speaking, watch straps can be divided into two types. And both leather straps and metal straps have the advantages and disadvantages.

In gerneal, the leather straps are much smother and finer. People seem quite elegant when having such straps on wrist. Watch straps made of leather have become very popular because of their good permeability and wearer comfort. Nowadays , people believe that they are more fashionable and graceful with those watch straps.

However, those watch straps also have the bad sides. They may need to be replaced by new ones only in 2 or 3 years. The short lifetime of the leather straps tells the wearers to keep them away from the water and even the sweat, because they will definitely become hard and crisp after being immersed in the water or sweat constantly. Besides, if exposed under the sun for a long time, the color of the watch straps may change or fade. And leather straps are easy to break and cause smell. So you should pay attention to take care of your watch strap.

Unlike the leather straps, metal straps can be much stronger, so they have a long lifetime, which can benefit a lot. But most people won’t choose them, because the wearers feel uncomfortable and even painful when wearing them. Though the metal straps are easy to clean, they will get rusty if touching water too frequently. What’s worse, the dirt in the metal may cause skin allergy. So keeping the watch strap in a good condition is still an important thing.

To sum up, different watch straps have different advantages and disadvantages. Obtaining some related knowledge may help a lot not only when you have a watch but also when you plan to buy a watch.
